New Gujarat Cruise Service : Surat To Diu

The voyage service, named Mumbai Maiden, was nearly inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Shipping and Anchorages Mansukh Mandaviya on March 31. 

Mumbai- grounded SSR Marines has proceeded its voyage service between Surat in Hazira and Union Territory of Diu, which was stopped due to the Covid-19 epidemic, on November 5.

The voyage service, named Mumbai Maiden, was nearly inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Shipping and Anchorages Mansukh Mandaviya on March 31. 

The State Union Minister for Anchorages, Shipping, and Waterways Mansukh Mandaviya on March 31, 2021, flagged off the first-of-its-kind voyage service from Hazira Port of Surat to Diu via videotape conferencing. 

As per the statement by the Ministry of Anchorages, Shipping and Waterways, the Union Minister in his initial address stated that the development of voyage tourism is under the government of PM Modi.

Before in November 2020, PM Modi had inaugurated the‘Hazira-Ghogha’ RoPAX Service to save trip time and the cost of trip. 

CEO of Mumbai Maiden Sanjiv Agrawal said, “ Due to the epidemic, we had stopped the voyage service from Surat to Diu. As the situation has turned normal with the drop in Covid-19 cases, the services have proceeded. We've got an ample number of passengers for the trip. While sailing in Gujarat home, we're following all state government rules. This service will also help those who want to go on a passage to Dwarka, Somnath, and other places in Saurashtra. The voyage services will run twice a week.” 

 Voyage service between Surat and Diu :

• For the voyage between Surat and Diu, the one side passage time will be roughly 13 to 14 hours. 
• The new voyage has a capacity of 300 passengers and has 16 cabins and will sail two round passages in a week. 
• The voyage has a Personality chesterfield, gaming chesterfield, entertainment on sundeck as well as other ultramodern amenities. 
•  One side trip of the voyage boat will bringRs. 900 Levies (per head). 

The voyage vessel can carry 300 passengers at a time with 16 cabin installations. The voyage also possesses Personality chesterfield ( unlimited food with access to all corridor of the boat), a single cabin, a double cabin ( including coins of 1000 non-refundable) and dancing zone. 

 Promoting voyage tourism assiduity in India :

While speaking during the event, the union minister blazoned that before 2014, there were 139 voyage calls at the Indian Anchorages but now there are 450 voyage calls in the country despite the epidemic. 

He added that there has also been a growth in the number of excursionists traveling by voyage services since 2014. The number of excursionists before 2014 was one lakh and in 2019-20 was4.5 lakhs. 

Mansukh Mandaviya reiterated that the Indian bank has the implicit to promote the voyage tourism assiduity and 6 transnational voyage outstations have formerly been planned on the east seacoast (Kolkata, Vishakhapatnam, Chennai) and west seacoast (Goa, Mumbai, Kochi) of India. 

The minister also expressed sanguinity for the development of RoRo, ferry, and ROPAX Services between the Saurashtra Region of Gujarat and South Gujarat and mentioned that it's a new future of transportation with ferry outstations and ultramodern amenities in voyage services. 

 Hazira-Ghogha RoPAX Service :

PM Modi before inaugurated Hazira-Ghogha RoPAX Service and within four months of its induction, the ferry service was employed by one lakh passengers and thousands of vehicles to save the cost of trip and trip time from Hazira (Surat) to Ghogha (Bhavanagar).
