The UK has allowed vaccinated people to travel to many countries around the world, including the US and Europe. However, Indians have not been allowed to do so. India has repeatedly raised the issue of travel-related travel bans with the UK at a high level, even as Foreign Minister S.K. Jaishankar has also spoken to the British government on the matter.

What is the UK's new travel rule?

  • Both double-dose vaccines, such as Oxford-AstraZeneca, Pfizer or Moderna, will be considered fully vaccinated.
  • Single dose J&J vaccine recipients will be considered fully vaccinated.
  • Such a vaccine should be approved in the UK, Europe, America.
  • Under the new rules, government hospitals in Australia, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Bahrain, Brunei, Canada, Dominica, Israel, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, New Zealand, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan will be treated. .
  • Many European countries have given recognition to Kovishield

Under new UK rules, Indians who have received both doses of Covishield will be considered unvaccinated. According to a report, India has expressed displeasure with the UK government over the matter. It is up to the European Union to decide whether to accept the Indian Vaccination Certificate or not. So far, more than a dozen European countries have recognized Kovishield.

India will increase pressure by opening doors for tourists

India can quickly open its doors to foreign tourists. For the last one and a half years, the movement of foreign tourists has been banned. Five lakh foreign tourist visas will be issued free of cost to revive the tourism, hospitality and aviation sectors. An announcement may be made within the next 10 days. India will then start stepping up pressure on the UK to consider people who have been coveted to be fully vaccinated.
