You will now be ready to make payments through the moment messaging platform WhatsApp. The National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) has approved request of  WhatsApp to launch a UPI (Unified Payment Interface) based payment system. The instant messaging platform had been testing the payment method for 2 years, but the talk was stalled thanks to privacy concerns.


Discussions were constantly happening from Facebook to launch WhatsApp Pay to the govt of India. However, it has now been approved. A handout was released on Thursday by the National Payments Corporation of India said that WhatsApp payment system has been approved instant transfer of payment.

According to him, the payment model of WhatsApp has been allowed to use in daily life where need to use cash instant now we can use WhatApp UPI transaction in different phases. Initially the corporate possesses approval of 20 million (2 crore) UPI user base, but later its area are going to be increased in graded manor.



WhatsApp payments are going to be available in ten regional languages in India. If your WhatsApp app already features a payment option, you'll use it now. Otherwise you'll check the payment option by updating WhatsApp.



To use WhatsApp Payments, customers got to have a open-end credit that supports UPI. By getting to WhatsApp Payment option, you'll select the bank and activate it by filling within the details.


WhatsApp said in its statement, from today, WhatsApp users within the country are going to be ready to pay with this app. WhatsApp has officially teamed up with the National Payments Corporation of India to develop a UPI based payment interface and also focuses on data localization.


WhatsApp has successfully coordination  with five major banks for payment services. These five major banks are:
  1. ICICI Bank
  2. HDFC Bank
  3. Axis Bank
  4. State Bank of India
  5. Jio Payments Bank.
Notably that. Money are often sent from WhatsApp not only to WhatsApp but from WhatsApp to any UPI supported app. This means that albeit someone isn't using WhatsApp payment, you'll be ready to make payment through WhatsApp
