DIGITAL MEDIA'S NEW RULE: "Who Has Posted The Wrong Content, Will Have To Go In To Jail." Govt. Says.

Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad unveiled new guidelines of social media, OTT platforms and news websites. He said druggies against social media abuses and abuses should get a forum to resolve their grievances within the time limit. Companies should make arrangements for that.

Social media companies should have an functionary to hear to complaints and also expose his name. This officer have to clear out the complaint within 15-20 days. However, the content attached to it should be removed within 24 hours, If the complaint is about nudity. However, you have to give sufficient reasons, If you cancel the content of a social media stoner. You also got to specify who posted the incorrect content the primary time. Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar has said about OTT and digital news doors that they've arrangements to control themselves there. Arrangements are made for OTT in the same way as there's a bowdlerize board for flicks. The content displayed on it should be age-applicable.

Has come a platform promoting people who spread violence

"We have complainted that social media has come a platform, which  promote culprits, terrorists and those who spread violence,"Prasad said. WhatsApp has 50 crore druggies in India. Facebook has 41 crore druggies. Instagram has 21 million druggies and Twitter has 1.5 million druggies. There have been complaints of abuse of social media and fake news. This was a matter of concern, so our government has decided to organize guidelines for such a platform. Getting freedom on the media is as same as getting freedom of republic. But every freedom is filled with responsibility.

Rules new rules for social media :

  1. Social media companies have to have an functionary for druggies' complaints and also mention their name.
  2. This officer have solve-out the complaint within 15-18 days. However, they've to remove the content within 24 hours, If there's a complaint on the issue of news.
  3. These companies have to submit a report every month on how numerous complaints have been entered and what action has been taken on them. Complaints must be addressed within 24 hours and resolved within 15 days.
  4. Still, you have to say who posted this post or content for the first time, If you post any rumors or false content.

Guidelines for OTT and digital news :

There will be a 3- phase medium for OTT and digital news. Everyone will have to give their information. There are no special rules for enrollment but specific information must be handed.

A system is created to resolve complaints. He'll have to produce a tone- regulation body. It'll be led by a retired Supreme Court or High Court judge or someone of the same position.

Still, an arrangement should be made at the government position, If there's a need to take immediate action. Who sees events like this.

Like pictures, OTT platforms will have to follow program law. Content must be classified according to age. That is, what content is applicable for individualists of what age. It'll be divided into 13, 16 and A orders.

Arrangements like maternal cinch are arranged. So that parents can block some kind of content for their children which isn't suitable for them.

OTT and news websites should be given the occasion to produce tone- regulation doubly

Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said that crores of OTT platforms have come up like digital media news doors. Those who come from the press have to follow the law of the Press Council, but there's no obligation for digital media. Lines with TVs follow the law under the Network Act, but there's no similar rule for OTT platforms. The government has allowed that there should be a single judicial system for each media platform. Everyone has got to follow certain rules and make arrangements for that.

For that, 50 questions were asked on OTT in both the homes . We also called a meeting of OTT cells in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai. We talked to them about tone- regulation, but it did not be. At the alternate meeting we asked to make arrangements within 100 days, but that didn't be. We also asked to prepare an institute system for the media.
