China is increasing the number of troops on the Line of Actual Control (LAC), as well as gathering weapons here. Indian External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said this on Thursday. He clarified that India was also keeping a close watch on China's moves and preparations for the country's security had been completed.

China's provocative act

"China is trying to change the LAC by provocative acts, but India also knows how to protect its borders and we are ready to protect every interest," Bagchi told a news conference.

On Wednesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying accused the Indian military of illegally occupying Chinese territory. An Indian foreign ministry spokesman dismissed China's claims and allegations, saying that China was increasing all kinds of tensions on the border, but that India was keeping a close eye on it.

Readiness to respond to China

In response to a question, Bagchi said, "Everything we have done on the LAC is in response to China's readiness." If any action is taken from that side, India has the right to respond. We want China to resolve the unresolved issues in Ladakh through dialogue.

"This month in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, our Foreign Minister Jaishankar told Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi that the two countries should hold talks to resolve unresolved issues," Bagchi said. This should take into account previous agreements and protocols.

In response to a question, Jaishankar said, "The quad is not for military purposes nor have we made it against anyone." Some people are spreading rumors. One should be careful about this. China is a huge and influential country in the region. It is also important for the world in terms of economy. Each country has different challenges. We are also looking after our own interests.
